Polina Kouklina was born 1986 in Moscow. Her modeling career began like so often, by the initiation of her best friend. The both girls went together to the Slava Zaitsev model show in Moscow, hoping that Polina's friend would be discovered there. But after they had arrived to the show two hours late, it was Polina who was being approached by a Russian model scout. Only a short time after that, the London modeling agency Take 2 took Polina under contract, soon following testshoots and her first editorials. After her graduation Polina began to work as a full-time model, since then there's been a great demand for the freckled face with the deep green eyes.

In the season Fall/Winter 04/05 she impressed the whole fashion industry with her grace and elegance. But despite the fast success, Polina remains her feet on the ground. For her every job is a new challenge and every journey a new adventure. The combination of ethereal beauty and remarkable intelligence makes her irressisitible for the photographer Ben Hassett. He was one of the first who discovered Polina's potential, her pictures taken by him in the British Vogue and The Face speak volumes about their co-operation. "To know her is to love her.
